Saving Cards & Memories in the Digital Age

by Jeff Cohen of E-bration.com

When you are planning an event, there are so many different factors that go into making sure the day goes off smoothly. Coordinating with the right vendors who will deliver on your vision, be readily available to communicate with you leading up to the event, and have proven to be reliable in their field are all so crucial to the event planning process.

This spans between the venue location, the catering, the photographer and/or videographer and the entertainment. With all of the excitement building up to your special occasion, you want to ensure that your vendors are not only going to exceed your expectations, but those of your guests.

While these types of vendors are more of an ongoing necessity for life events, there are several services that are built in between the planning to make sure there is a strong communication between the guests and hosts. These services include, but are not limited to, invitations, RSVP tracking, cards and messages, gift registries, photo sharing and thank you cards.

It can be a bit overwhelming when all of these services are handled by multiple vendors which is why, nowadays, it is very common for consumers to use digital platforms that offer a multitude of these services in an all-in-one solution.

Another big benefit of going digital is that one of the most important elements of event planning is making sure that everything from the big day gets commemorated. Whether it’s your wedding, a baby shower, or a birthday party, you are going to want to look back on the memories of the special day; and even share it with family and friends.

In today’s digital age, there are countless ways to capture photos and videos from various occasions. But there’s another emotional component that often gets forgotten about when it comes to commemorating them forever… and that’s the cards that are received from all of the guests. Many of these cards include personal and sentimental messages from family and friends, but what does the recipient do with these cards? Do they get stored in a shoebox? A drawer? A folder? Being able to store them digitally is a keepsake to make the event experience with each and every guest unforgettable.

Lastly, it would be remiss to not mention such an eco-friendly advantage of digital alternatives. Paper cards, invitations and thank you cards take a major toll on the environment with so many trees needed to create them. In fact, over 140,000 tons of paper are used every year to accommodate the amount of greeting cards that are purchased in the US. This has become a major cornerstone of the transition to digital and the launch of many electronic greeting card companies over the years.

Regardless of the direction consumers go in their event planning journey, there are many resources available to make the process easier, more efficient and less stressful. This way, the day’s event can be spent primarily on the celebration they have been waiting for!
